# Data Ownership
**All data generated through the platform is owned by its individual creators, as well as by the Realm to which they're associated. Guardians of Earth operates on the belief that for nature to realise its true value, then human intellectual property should ultimately belong to the land from which it springs. As custodians of the land, individuals and communities have various rights and responsibilities related to the land's intellectual property.**
Guardians of Earth is a private, mission-driven company (Earth Guardians Pty Ltd) with shareholders. The company believes natural capital assets are grossly undervalued and that competitive, free-market, for-profit mechanisms offer the best hope for a future in which the bio-cultural health of the planet is more accurately valued.
